Rain Painted Prescott...

I'm back from a trip up to Prescott. Just past this scene my nephew and sister saw a black cougar. I am so wishing I saw it! I thought that it would feel like Thanksgiving time but it was warm. Mid sixties to high 50's daytime. The rain cleaned everything and made the colors for pictures deeper. I have enhanced this one a bit more for contrast against the white rain.
This is over looking a beautiful sub-division I have been looking at for building a home.

Outside my mom and dads bedroom. This little area of a much bigger side yard shows the lichen on the rocks and the stone rust color beautifully.

This was taken from my mom's kitchen with a few rain drops falling.

Low hanging clouds.

More courtyard.

My moms goose. Her beautiful sage and herb garden.

I just love how these turned out. Mystical, like time is standing still. My cats were glad I came home. Thanks to my girlfriend Debbie for watching over them. I have pictures of people for next post. I hope everyone had a great holiday! I was the youngest person of twelve at our Thanksgiving table. I enjoyed it!

New Class...

Turn one of your favorite pictures into a piece of art with a transparency. I'll teach you how to create using this easy product and with a little touch of color you will have two 5x7s to keep or give away, in less than one hour. This picture here of my mom and aunt taking a ride with Miss Arny and a neighbor was hard to see and grainy but still turned out cool.
You need to have a picture with either light background or with subject with white cloths to see the art paper underneath. Ruby here wanted in on the action so I took a picture with her on a white table cloth.

Aunt Jerrine's dress was tinted pink after adhering onto paper. Any photos with some light to them and not too busy will do. Class at Mystic Paper in December is only $20 for the class and two 5x7. $10 for each two duplicates or multiple photos. This class is fun, easy and only one hour. Great gift giving idea. Call Mystic Paper for details. You can also e-mail me any questions you might have.

I Love Books...

This is the inside cover of a daily date book-journal I've been working on.
These two books are beautiful, Wuthering Heights, and Return of the Native. It would be hard to alter these two.
This is the picture I wanted to be first. The journal at left is the subject I am picturing below. I started this the first of the year and have been adding pictures and sayings, quotes, etc. Some day I'll give this to my grand daughter.
The book already had some nature pictures and art in it. I have just added what I like, mostly with a Victorian feel.
I really liked doing this, and already have one picked out for next year that will contain winged things and nature themes.

I'm trying to include special dates of our family and the history of 2008. I would have loved one from my grand mother in 1908! The writing part is still hard for me to do but the pictures easy. I need practice journaling. I thought I would share this little project with you. Have a great weekend.

Thoughts on food...

Remember doing any canning? My grandmother did it and my mom had a big garden so she did it. I remember stewed tomatoes, pickled green beans with a bite, peaches and jams. Raspberries and frozen corn cut off the cob. That stuff really tasted good. These pictures conger up a bright picture. I helped as a kid but never did my own except I have always cooked in volume and froze. Let's hear some little memories from you guys out there. Did you get to witness this almost unheard of event in the city of Phoenix?

I had to add this because it is my dad's favorite dessert. It's a good thing they canned pineapple.

What have I been doing?

Reading. Finished this whale of a book, and redecorating my kitchen. I decided to switch stuff around and make my kitchen a little prettier with silver plate.

It goes well with my colors and I have been staying home more so I've been playing instead of laundry. I put splenda in my cookie jar and the silver ice bucket has Ruby's dry food in it~! That pretty much tells the whole story.
