I'm trying a little of Sandra Evertson's picture presentation.

The technique she uses in her blog is wonderful in showing that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

This one is my favorite.

She has a way of telling a story along with her pictures that I admire but am in need of practice.

The Art of Mary...

For the last year I have been collecting interesting art work of Mary and the different Madonna's that I like. I have finally altered a book and put them into the pages.
The book is an encyclopedia that was ornate and I added a Little metal frame with glass.

I have a few inset windows and arch doorways.

Some pages I added paper and some I stained.

Lots of shading and gold edging.

It turned out very heavy but a beauty. Each time I alter a book I learn more about the do's and do nots. This one went without a hitch. Thanks for looking.

Blog Blocked?

When ever I can't think of anything for my blog, I always go for dog pictures. I don't think I've used him before but he's cute. I will be going to Bisbee and Tombstone next week hopefully I'll get some pictures there. I have some things I'm working on but need to finish up before they are ready for picture taking. So I guess I'm only picture taking blocked!

Tagged Twice!

Things I'm addicted to. I got tagged twice so I'm listing 7.Small Treasures.


Lipsticks, can't through old ones out, and always looking for that right shade. I'm working on this addiction. So far this year, none bought.

Chocolate milk. I have to make my own with dutched cooking cocoa and Splenda. I have no problem getting my daily milk.

This is my reward for getting out of the house. I don't know why these are so great, has to be the tap fizz.

Books, I read fiction but I collect the picture and old books. Love them all. What's better than a book? A good book store!

Winter Faerie Casts a Rose Spell.

Here she is with her wand to help me with my roses. I have no green thumb. When I moved into my house there were 40 rose bushes. After 10 years I only have a dozen left.
This is a designer rose that is so hearty and resilient. It opens with a lot of light yellow and turns dark pink as it grows.


No color enhancement needed for this bush!

A Walk in the Snow...

Wow, where ever this is, there are some big trees. I just loved the smile on the child's face, seen through the eyes only. It reminds me of upper Michigan.

January Sun in Arizona...

Although I miss snow, there is a beauty of the bright sunlight here in the Valley of the Sun. I decided to get out for some vitamin D and snapped these shots of my fountain in my rose garden.
Not too many roses to show but soon the buds will open. Enjoy the weather and have a sunny day.

Little 50's Jewel Box...

The image of a ballet couple on this box is adorable. I've had this box for a while to cover the insides with satin or velvet. Maybe this year.
The box itself is a cute shape. It then could hold a cute bauble or mini book? Maybe a cute gift for a special girl? It is now on my list. I am an idea girl, and I love the doing but so many choices!

It's now 2009!

Isn't this the cutest thing? I thought I would start out the new year with my traditional old picture. This looks to be about 100 years ago.

Paper Part Two...

So... Bonnie my friend needed a small wedding album made for Christmas.

Remembering about the comment on this paper I used it.
It turned out great and I had it out when I started using some transparencies.

First try turned out so well I decided to make presents for relatives. I tried different paper but only liked how this line worked.

I made lots of them.

I was very pleased how it looked with the beach and water pictures.

Just about done with this paper when I discovered yet one more use.

The Story of Periphery Paper and Blue!

Last year I made this book in Caroline Millers class.
This year I added some more and yes I miss snow!

I loved the paper that was used and remember someone saying

That it also makes a nice wedding book paper.

Next post you will see all the art and design I have used this paper for.

Most of you know I don't usually work in blue but I have been

working on that. I am so happy how this little book helps add a snowy

feel to my great room and looks great with silver.
