I have just read a condensed version of this lady's life. I wanted to know what the appeal was compared to many other queens. She was beautiful and charming and very young. Her story is tragic and lived in an unfortunate time. They actually wore scenery in the hair- the rich. Among other things I would say the art world loves the embellished, and she certainly was!
These two pictures I found in my stash of art photo's. The one above is only 2x3 in. and is so cute. I like how they have their backs to the camera. I wish I knew what ocean but I guess it could be an ocean of my picking!

Last year I made this book for my girlfriends birthday. Inside is waiting for pictures. The plan was to make me one like it so we can find old pictures of girlfriends to put inside.

Well this month I finished my version.
I stuffed lots of lace on the edges to show when closed.
I sewed the edges and laced in the pages.
Now we are all ready for collecting the insides. Debbie really liked hers and we are due a trip out soon.
I found a couple of pictures that I liked of women for moms day. I see a little of myself in these and they made me smile. Hope you like them too!
I made over a dozen Mothers' Day cards for good mothers that I know. I used old book covers to make hanging ones this

Added a little Marie Antoinette pictures, they go beautiful with the roses.
I love this paper that I got at Mystic. It is sewn through 2 sheets. An instant page with 2 sides. Lace on right has silver threads.

Why do the margins of long blogs get further apart? Does any one know? This bugs me, If you have any insight let me know.
It started with a rose on a card. I then found one of those empty boxes that looks like a book.

I then found an old picture album that fit right in and was already cool looking in white with some gold etching.

This is a great piece to start off my 'Sepia Summer' with. I have been experimenting with color backgrounds and want to lead back to black. This art is from Anahata Katkin. Now that Paper Studio is closing I won't be able to find her calendars so easily. :( Maybe Mystic can help with that! I love them and cut them up for art later. Have a great weekend!
The request was to make a card with a pocket. These 4 are a sampling of my cards named "Graffiti Girl". Usually I make them all alike but decided to have fun playing with them. I will have something sticking out of the pockets but couldn't scan with. It was very fun this way.
I collect dog art. Among other dog artifacts and treasures. I have most of the collection in my guest room. This piece says "Sweet Co Co" on the back 1971. I thought it was really cute and funny. Probably just like the subject. Acrylic on canvas.
This little piece of wood 5x7 was painted by some unknown artist that probably loved this dog. I found it for .99 at a local thrift. I just can't pass by abandoned art of a loved one long ago. I have found some interesting pieces of needle point, paintings on wood, paint by #'s, acrylics and oils. Even old photo's. I pick only the interesting ones to me. It is such fun running across a treasure, I rarely pay over $4.00. I have been called the keeper of the dogs. So sad I can only have one real one. Ruby you're a lucky dog.
