Acrylic on Tea Tray...

On my birthday my sister and I painted these little coffee or tea trays. I had a lot of trouble getting them on my camera as it is very glossy and reflective. I love how this one turned out and I 'll show the other view (same tray) below but less glow. I will have to display my tray with my Madonna book. I have a new camera but can't figure how to turn off the flash! I am excited to use it as I am going from 3 pixels to 10! Thanks mom and dad for the present.

Happy Birthday Dad- I know it's a little early...

I have this little picture of my dad in a leather frame. I don't think it has been scanned before. If you knew how many times my dad stood in front of a pond by a tree for a picture, you would know why I picked this picture. A full view of the picture is in my other family blog if you want to look. This is over 75 years ago and he is under one. Grandma said he walked real early. By the way my grandma is still alive at 98! Too bad she doesn't remember much from those days though. Happy birthday dad.

I Don't Cook but...

If I did I would have to keep this book! It goes so nice with my pink kitchen. I actually will be putting this in my antique booth for sale. It's so 50's and filled with lots of color pictures and yummy recipes.
I am very tempted to make this as I also have this baking mold for sale. I just have to remember that I can't keep everything. Yes these two items sure get my creative juices flowing, but sadly I'd eat the whole thing too! Enjoy the old pictures.

June is Birthday Month...

In the mail box was a present from my Aunt Sharon. An early birthday card. I should say cards, 20 or more! Thank you, thank you! I love old cards from the 50's and older. Some were Easter, Mothers Day and birthday etc. Here are a few for birthday to help celebrate some of the birthdays this month of my families. Dad, me and my son! Yeah, we are a year older! Did I just say that? I think I will have to use the dogs in some Artist trading cards.

Hi, I'm back! Where did I go? Nowhere...

I just had some family visiting and now I'm back to blogging. Hope you all had a great Memorial Day Holiday! I finished all my puzzle pieces for Mystics trade and will post art soon. Have a great end of May weekend!

Puzzle Piece Trade at Mystic Paper...

These are just the beginning before I start embellishing and adding extras.

I found big puzzle pieces 4x5 in. and sanded the top as most puzzle pieces are shiny. Glued some paper on and trimmed with exacto knife.

This is the one I like best. I probably will do some of each though. I'm digging in my ribbon and maybe I'll add a few gems? I'm hoping there will be others joining in the fun!

Marie Antoinnettte Biography...

I have just read a condensed version of this lady's life. I wanted to know what the appeal was compared to many other queens. She was beautiful and charming and very young. Her story is tragic and lived in an unfortunate time. They actually wore scenery in the hair- the rich. Among other things I would say the art world loves the embellished, and she certainly was!

Friendship pictures...

These two pictures I found in my stash of art photo's. The one above is only 2x3 in. and is so cute. I like how they have their backs to the camera. I wish I knew what ocean but I guess it could be an ocean of my picking!
I hope to find a variety of sizes and edging. Aren't these two ladies sweet!

Friendship Book...

Last year I made this book for my girlfriends birthday. Inside is waiting for pictures. The plan was to make me one like it so we can find old pictures of girlfriends to put inside.

Well this month I finished my version.

I stuffed lots of lace on the edges to show when closed.

I sewed the edges and laced in the pages.

Now we are all ready for collecting the insides. Debbie really liked hers and we are due a trip out soon.

Added a little Marie Antoinette pictures, they go beautiful with the roses.

I love this paper that I got at Mystic. It is sewn through 2 sheets. An instant page with 2 sides. Lace on right has silver threads.

Why do the margins of long blogs get further apart? Does any one know? This bugs me, If you have any insight let me know.
