Lovely Is The Rose Project...

It started with a rose on a card. I then found one of those empty boxes that looks like a book.

I then found an old picture album that fit right in and was already cool looking in white with some gold etching.

I have used this image on a cover of another book but love it and she is smelling a rose.

This is a great piece to start off my 'Sepia Summer' with. I have been experimenting with color backgrounds and want to lead back to black. This art is from Anahata Katkin. Now that Paper Studio is closing I won't be able to find her calendars so easily. :( Maybe Mystic can help with that! I love them and cut them up for art later. Have a great weekend!

Mystic Atc Exchange...

The request was to make a card with a pocket. These 4 are a sampling of my cards named "Graffiti Girl". Usually I make them all alike but decided to have fun playing with them. I will have something sticking out of the pockets but couldn't scan with. It was very fun this way.

Dog Art Pieces...

I collect dog art. Among other dog artifacts and treasures. I have most of the collection in my guest room. This piece says "Sweet Co Co" on the back 1971. I thought it was really cute and funny. Probably just like the subject. Acrylic on canvas.

This little piece of wood 5x7 was painted by some unknown artist that probably loved this dog. I found it for .99 at a local thrift. I just can't pass by abandoned art of a loved one long ago. I have found some interesting pieces of needle point, paintings on wood, paint by #'s, acrylics and oils. Even old photo's. I pick only the interesting ones to me. It is such fun running across a treasure, I rarely pay over $4.00. I have been called the keeper of the dogs. So sad I can only have one real one. Ruby you're a lucky dog.

Bad Hair Day Picture Challenge...

I guess I could give myself a few excuses. Up till this picture I had always worn my hair long and straight. I didn't realize how the bangs look like there is still a big roller in there. My nice sister found this for me. She titled it Sandy's big fat hair! CHALLENGE: Try and top that on your blog, by posting a picture of your worst hair day! By the way, I only looked like this one time. hehe.

Eggs not flowers...

These little baskets worked out great size wize! The little girl was a black and white and I enlarged her and tinted and sized her down again for just a little color. The tint I used on her hair looks pretty natural! The background is scented shelf paper with texture. I really enjoyed making these after doing books for a while. Just not enough time for all the art that I love.

Easter Atc...

I made everyone who participated in the Easter Atc exchange this extra bonus card. On the back it says (there really is an Easter bunny.) I have just mailed and dropped all at their respective spots. I'll show them all in a day or two. So If you want them to be a surprise I'll give them a day or so to get to you except for Hanna in Finland. Yours will take about a week!
