The Story of the Men of Halloween! Beware- scary, hairy seventies men w/ no cloths.

While shopping at a local thrift, looking for some unusual item, I ran across a baggy stapled shut with three decks of cards. I loved the brown ones with a really cool pattern. So for a buck I brought them home. If you can only imagine my surprise and as it turned out a gift, in disguise. Aren't the backs wonderful color? It was worth one dollar.
I knew I had to use them in some art work. Something. Then came the surprise!
Imagine my surprise when looking further, can you see my grandchildren finding this little breakfast bird in my album. Well, most everyone knows in my family to expect the unexpected from me. The girls at work got a big laugh. Pretty soon all over Mesa, women were giggling and laughing and some said gross! Mostly the young generation, I love the long hair but only on the head, no mustache's beards, chests. etc.
Yes they were from all over, every shape color and all hairy. There were even a few afros. No doubt they were from the seventies.
This guy looks like Starsky from Starsky and Hutch.

Yes, this is my favorite! Sulky, moody? Can't believe he got rooked into this? As Atc's go they turned out great, but the laughs and story were the real prize.

Happy Half Century Birthday Patty!!!

She's never looked better!
Patty and my granddaughter in St.Petersburg, Florida a couple of years back.

She said not to put any bad pictures, all the old ones I had were big big hair or big big glasses or bad out of date cloths so the recent ones are it. I know you have a busy week so see you Friday! Have a wonderful birthday!

Atc's from the past, revisited...

Ruby went for a trick and treat adventure with the girls below. I really liked doing ATC's but they were all I did then. Now I don't seem to have the time. I'll be showing you some from the past in future posts. This post contains the kids of Halloween.

Friends...

Let us enjoy our friends! And the outfits of the thirties were so comfy and classy looking. I hope this style pants comes back. Any way my best friend is off on another trip. This one to Costa Rica. She's made 4 or 5 trips in the last 2 months. I was happy to spend time w/ her Tuesday. I will look forward to seeing you when you return. Keep safe, Deb.

I had bloggers block.

Back to basics, just pictures that I like. I have been concentrating on all my projects so much I forgot that blogging for me is about sharing the pictures and beauty around me. I found these two so, here you go. 1930's black and white and art by someone long ago below. I'm off to my work. Don't you just love this weather?

Shabby Pastel Beauty...

I like how this acrylic overlay looks in my kitchen. I may stamp white words over but I don't think it needs it. Another class coming on the 24th. Two spaces left. This is so fun and relaxing. I want to share the 8 step process with every one!

Odd, but loved children...

I think these two belong in the house that is shown on a previous post. The dress the girl is wearing is so cute. Look at the cut on the shoulders. And check out the carefully placed curl on the boys head. This is one from my personal collection of old photos.

Haunted or Artistry?

I think both. I found this 8x10 photograph in a thrift store a while back. I actually found many and sold the scenery ones in my shop. I kept this one. It reminds me of a house that was across from ours in Michigan.
I can just imagine a woman in a black dress leaning on the brick of this porch.

I love what ever the wood is on the inside wall. I may use this as background on a card or piece of art. I love it.

Have you had your eggs this morning?

Here are some free eggs for you. I love this page! And below are a few more pics of my paper bag book. You don't have to be a total cat lover to love this book. It is filled with over 100 pieces of lace, pictures, ephemera and even an earring, that you get in the kit. I made sure I had enough for 10 of each so all will be what you see in the original book.
I am even doing the sewing of the special stitches ahead of time.
Class is going to be held at Mystic Paper on a tuesday and wednesday evening so every one will get 6 hours of class time. Class is November 18th and 19th. Cost is $59.00. Because of the amount of ephemera needed for each book, class is a limited size. This book would be great for any one that collects, gathers, trades or wants to store their misc. treasures. Hope to see you there!

My happy morning start!

Book is ready!
Cats are waiting.

Over 100 pieces of ephemera guarantied.

Class in November: The cats out of the bag book. (A Collectors Tail) Tons of old lace! Limited spots. Mystic Paper. More on this later.

Every morning the animals wait for their breakfast and I have my morning Pepsi. Laddy on left does not like Elliot on the right. They will put up with each other for food though. When I grew up cats were never on counters but with small dogs in the house the cats have to eat up high. I thought this picture depicts my morning, here's to your happy morning!

Recurring dreams?

This picture pretty much represents me. Red shoes, dog, cat, and bangs! I have a dream that has visited me all my life. It's always different but it always is about me trying to keep my animals safe in some bizarre event. Some times it feels like craziness or bland frustration, but at times it is a waker-upper. These are always times in my life when I either have a lot going on or my life needs slowing down, or when beyond my control, turmoil is amidst. I know now just to say OK, organize life or take care of me. Does any one else have similar recurring dreams? I do get tired of chasing animals and trying to keep them all together! My mom would say, have less animals. But in the dream I borrow pets, and all my pets from the past come to life in need of rounding up! Fortunately they don't happen often and I know what they mean, so they are just funny! Any way have a great Wed. and here is hoping all your loved ones are safe.
