Funky Fantasy Art Friday

One of the many things that I have collected are books from the end of the 60's, beginning of the 70's that have art work of a certain look. I don't know if there is a name for the style of art or it was just popular then. The art or illustrations have bright colors or 70's colors and a lot of straight lines versus rounded shapes. This book is a good example.
The artist here is Morritz Kennel also spelled Maurice Kennel inside the book. It definitely has that 70's look.

There are so many pictures to choose from that it was hard to choose. I think it is nice to see a little different illustration of this story than the usual. I will show more examples of the art I am talking about all this weekend! Happy Labor Day!

I don't know the official name for that style, but I call it "cut paper" style artwork -- flat color without drawn boundaries. I really like it.

Love these too! I have a book called NEVER TALK TO STRANGERS that my parents always read me with very 1970's style illustrations that are fab. It was redone a few years ago with modern illustrations that are no where near as cool!
